Default 18" Wheel - Studded Tires?

We live in AK and studded tires are a needed item 5 months out of the year! I got a buddy with a new Tundra looking for some good winter tires with studs. I did some searching and man there is not a lot of options out there for winter tires that fit an 18" wheel.

2 Questions:

1) Will a 17" wheel fit over the brakes?
2) What studded tires have others found?

We got snow and ice already and we need to get these tires going!
