Default Polished VS Chrome

I was wondering what is the difference in these two types of wheels? Is it harder to keep one or the other clean? Does one get damaged faster than the other? etc.
I would be using my truck just for the road, maybe a little off-road use, but not much.
Please help me out.
Thanks

Where you are at, it really don't matter. It will be whatever you like, they will clean up both the same.

Chrome plating is way tougher in the long run than polished aluminum. Alum wheels require more care such as waxing and buffing out once in a while.
PITA. You can drive for quite a while thru mud/ water/ dirt and the chrome will
clean up with a hose and some soapy water.

If it were me in your climate ( humidity, salt air) I would wax the chromes once a year and just enjoy driving.

I think when you're out looking you'll find a lot of alum wheels that have been painted. My wheels are a satin silver. Look great and wash right up. I've never heard anything good about buffing and polishing aluminum.

Smile Re: Polished VS Chrome

i have polished rims and they do require a little buffing once in a while.my friend has chrome rims and he said they are good too.no need polish all the time, but i also head that in time the chrome can flake off. but the next rims i get will be black ones so i no need polish after a little mud bog or worry about brake dust.

ps-my friend said that weld racing wheels have a lifetime warranty on their chrome wheeels

Chrome plated wheels are bad to corrode where tire bead seats. This slowly causes the air bleed out.
