Default Second guessing my wheel purchase...

I just bought a set of the black Cepek DC-1 wheels.
I am running stock alloys with Michelin LTX MS tires and I
have a 2002 Tacoma Limited Double Cab with 4WD.
My truck is silver and I am thinking I might have made a mistake.

I have searched high and low for pictures and I have found a few but not any on TS.
Can any of you guys help put my mind at ease by posting some pics.
A few opinions would be appreciated as well.

Yes I got those...
I was feeling pretty good about it until I showed them to a friend of mine.
It's too late now though because they are on the way.

Well I have waited on you guys...and,
I have searched all over the Internet for at least a first gen light colored Taco with these wheels
on it (trying to find a silver one).
I give up.
I know one thing for sure. I will post some pictures after my install in this thread and there
will be some photos available for someone else to find!

You should be able to return the wheels BEFORE you mount the tires. But after you mount the tire, most of the time, the retailer won't accept a return.

Here's the best I could do on the pics:
Put my lift on yesterday
Just placed a big order!
Finally - New Tires - And the DC-1's Fit!!!!

Thanks Tundradrenalin,

With return shipping and shipping to reorder, I am going to keep them.
I like them still from at least from what I can tell so far.
I have begun to think that they are not well liked around though.

The fact that I couldn't find very many pictures of them is a little bit telling.
There are some threads where people rave over these wheels though.

I have looked into the worse case scenario where I hate them. I suppose I have two options. Resell them or look into removing the black powdercoat and then polish and reapply clear.

Thanks again,

Bing0

The style is not bad...if you are concerned about the chrome, you can always have them powder coated

I've got the polished version and I really like them. They didn't have the black ones when I got them, so I really didn't have a choice. If I were to get them today, I'd probably get the black ones, but at the same time, really have no issue with mine at all.

Here's a pic of my truck....

Thanks,

I have a friend who is a tuner type guy who also does a a lot of work on different cars. I asked him what he thought. He said that he didn't think the black would look good on my silver Taco.

Well this caused me to think maybe he is right. But, I have found about 10 or so pictures of these online and I think that these wheels look better on silver trucks...even over dark blue and black. In fact, I don't think I even like these so much on the black trucks I have found so far.

Its all personal preference.... I personally don't care for the look totally black rims myself. I like the look of the DC-1 wheels with the black and silver, but if they were all black I wouldn't like them. But, new 'bling' today is blacked out wheels....

As long as you like them, who cares what your tuner friend thinks of them. Its going on your truck after all.

I agree that it does not matter what my friend thinks of them. What matters is what I think. I was not sure what I thought about them and that was the problem. It is kind of like picking out paint, (which I suck at by the way) you never know exactly how your room is going to look until after it is done. And I was not sure how my truck would look with these rims on it. That's why I searched for almost 4 hours trying to find a silver Tacoma in my body style with these wheels on it. I have begun to feel far more confident about this purchase than I did previously, so I want to thank all of you for chiming in.

I have never bought rims for any of my vehicles so this is new to me as well. I just really want to make sure that whatever I do, one thing remains consistent. That one thing is that I want to remain tasteful. I also don't want to be trendy.
So, when I know someone who has purchased numerous rims and put them on vehicles, I value their opinion.

And this is the reason that also that I asked here.
