[B]I'm looking for advice on Enkei wheels? Are they good or bad?
One of the Houston members (anythingtoyota) has a set of Enkei wheels. I think they were the RTS and really look good . I saw them at a meet last year they set out just a little bit more that IS wheels but not too far. You might PM Bill and get added info. I think he told me they were 18X8. Also I think the Enkei Company is in the Dallas area so you might want to drop by there.
i have not seen a bad review on the enkei wheels. On a truck I don't see that many however I personally like the RT6 or the Phatt I like solid spokes but that's just personal opinion. As for good or bad they are lighter then most wheels but just as strong.,just make sure they don't have same chipping problem as IS wheels with winter salt "unofficially" Somewhat pricey for me but i think worth it.

Just got back from the Dealer They exchanged my Ivan Stewarts under Warrenty. The parts department is an authorized TRD dealer, so the manager actually spoke with someone from TRD about this exchange. Apparrently, TRD is (Unofficially) recommending that you do not run these rims during the winter, but only during the summer.
since you are in DFW and I will be for the summer maybe if you have some spare time we could get a summer cookout meet together...just a thought.
Thanks for the advice guys. I had a set of Borbet wheels (that weren't cheap.... ) that gave me all kinds of fits trying to keep them balanced. Just really made me not like driving the car anymore and I don't want that to happen here too.
Any thoughts on tape weights versus clip on weights? The Borbets I had before used tape weights and I always felt like that was a less accurate way to balance a wheel than using the clip on weights.
Obviously my prior bad experience there has stuck with me and made me aprehensive
Enkeis are really good rims. they've been around for years. they were one of the first japanese rim manufacturers to supply rims to the U.S. market. they started making rims for the race track, but now they make rims for every application. again really good rims and both the RT6 and RTS styles look hella sweet!

Enkei also manufactures factory wheels for Toyota,Honda, and Acura (to name a few OEMs).
As far as tape weights vs. hammer-on,it's dependent on the wheel style and cosmetics. Either type of weight will balance a wheel correctly. The person doing the balancing may be half-@ssing it by not balancing the wheels to zero,or didn't clean the surface well, which caused the weight(s) to come off.

I had Enkei's on a '98 Prelude I had before the Tundra. Had them on for about 2 years. Outstanding product. No issues at all and the quality of the finish was also great. The best part is they're reasonably priced.
Just visited the Enkei site. The RT6 and F6 look like a perfect fit for the Tundra body style. Have you priced 'em?
Originally posted by TexasSR5 Haven't shooped around much, but Tires.com (Discount Tire) has them for a reasonable $177 each, with is much more affordable than Boyds or Welds.
Yep....I got mine at Discount for under $200 each. Those were 16".
I'm over at TireRack right now in a separate window, looking to see how 18" looks on the new '04 Maxima...just playing around with the software there.
I've noticed when you enter the Tundra..they (most sites) use a regular cab Tundra for display...that sux.
