I bought some 33" nitto mud grapplers and tried to get them installed on my stock wheels and installed on the truck. Nope! They rub. Not the fender well, but the shop said they rub because the wheels need to be offset. I found some wheels I like with a 35mm offset, but dont know how much I need to clear and not rub anymore. Anyone have any suggestions? 2008 Tundra 4x4. I have the stock rims and 32" Nitto dune grapplers now. I have a rough counrty 3" leveling kit on the way.
Do you have 18" or 20" wheels? What is the width of the tires? 305's? 325's? You can fit a 12.5 inch wide tire on your stock wheels.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have 33 x 12.5 x 18 Nitto mud grapplers. They do fit on my stock wheels, but the fitment under the fender is the problem. I didn't see it, but the shop that was installing them said it fit vertically just fine under the fender, just not going back toward the a-arm and stuff, They said even just bolting them back up, it was already rubbing. I asked a rep at tire rack if the 6.5 inch offset i was looking at on a particular set of wheels would get me where i wanted and he said I would have the same problem. Well, I figured I would find a guru on here somewhere that has a better idea of my situation. Someone has already posted that they will fit. I just want to see what others have to say on the subject.
I ran 33 x 12.5 x 20 Mud Grapplers on stock wheels with a Revtek lift, but had spacers installed to eliminate the rubbing.
Glad you brought that up about the spacers too because I was looking for some to get me back up and running as soon as i could and then started seeing people question the safety of having spacers installed. Mostly people noted that the wheel would now be relying on the studs to hold the wheel and not the hub. Any comments on that. It would be a LOT cheaper that way. Probably about 180.00 versus over 1000.00!!!
I put spacers on mine and didn't have any balacing problems. I couldn't find any wheels that I liked better than my TRD's. I just wanted them to look a little more "flush" with the fenders. Paid $160, no tax & free shipping on ebay (Made in USA). Nicely built.

Got my chrome 20s for $700... I dont trust the spacers.... too many horror stories being heard around the campfire for me to chance it.
for all you guys with mud grapplers, on the 33s what is the actual mounted height and tread width-(not 12.5 section width)? Also i have checked around on nittos site and have seen tha actual tire weight?

get a cheap set of wheel spacers. just be sure they are hubcentric. i have 285/65/18s on my stock wheels with no spacers and a 2.5'' lift and no rubbing anywhere. so you should be ok with a small spacer.
