Hope this helps.

PS-The grill worked out great! Hope you're feeling better!
Whoa! It says I'm almost 10MPH faster @ 60 on the speedo! I've been "guestimating" around 5mph. And it must be bad when my speedo reads 85 then.

Thanks Mike! And I am feeling great now - surgery went fine. Glad you like the OEM grille okay!

I dunno man - according to that calculator, when an SR5 rolls off the line with 16" steel rims and 245/70/16s on it and the next Limited comes out with the alum rims and 265/75/16s - then there is already almost 5mph difference on the speedo @60mph! Does the factory adjust the speedo for these differences? I know the dealer doesn't give a $hit, so they wouldn't.

That's perplexing indeed.

Ford used to put different colored gears in the kickdown cable to correct for these issues, I think in Toyota's it's part of the ECU...But I am guessing.

Man - wish I knew of an easy way to correct it - I hate not knowing. I'm going to borrow a buddy's GPS the next trip I take to Las Vegas and find out exactly what's going on! Amazing how accurate those are!

There is some sort of a computer module that you can get to correct it, you can do a search and find it. For a $100 or more, I'll try to just do the math for now.

Problem is, with a higher truck you're more likely to lose track of your speed. Just last week my girl was driving my truck and said "Whoo, I hafta slow down--I am doing 80." I said, "No you're not, your'e doing 90."

Yikes!

Well, I still haven't done the "computer check" - but there are some great calculators online to figure this out. I do notice a slight lack in take-off power with 285/75/16s though.

I just put a new set of 265/70/16s on my 2001 Tundra V6. The old tires were a bit dry rotted and had bumps. I put a set of Goodyear Tracker IIs on it and it rides like a Mercedes now.
