Default Another What size tire thread..help??

I just installed the Bilstein 5100's on the top setting in the front (~2.5"), and a ToyTec 1" rear, and 1" differential drop. I thought that 285/70/17's would fit on my '06 DC with stock rims, but the stock 265/65's look pretty tight to the upper control arm already. I need to know if the above tire size will indeed work ASAP, as I have ordered those tires (Bridgestone Revo's AT II). If they won't fit, what is the largest size that I can go with?

I thought that I have seen people on here with that size, and that is why I went ahead and had my brother order them for me...he owns a car dealership...and is going to be pissed if I had him order the wrong ones. Please let me know..

Scott

Most(if not all) people running 285s on stock rims are also using a spacer or wheel adaptor giving them an extra 1" to 1.5" of negative offset/less backspace.

Thanks for the info. Where can I find spacers and how much is needed to clear the suspension?
I assume that it is not adviseable to go mor than necessary.

Yeah, I can see that in your pictures...thanks! How far out do the tires protrude from the arches?

At first I thought that $100/pair was steep, but I see that they bolt onto the hubs/lugs and have their own lugs, and the machining looks great. Has anyone had one fail? My friend said that wheel spacers have been known to fail if the wheel encounters a sharp hit, and that they put more wear on wheel bearings. I have no idea if either is true.

Looks like I have to order some spacers before the tire swap. Man this project is snowballing quickly...but the truck looks way cooler and rides better already.
