Default Goodyear Fortera Harshness

The used '02 V6 Tundra I just purchased has near-new Goodyear Fortera 275/70/16 tires mounted on stock Tundra V8 rims. They look great, but compared to the stock 245 tires, provide a much harsher ride. I've read reviews (TireRack) on this tire and the preponderance of owners love them. I'm running the recommended 34 psi all around.

Can I safely drop to 30 psi and even lower in an attempt to soften the ride?

Could I go as low as the stock tire pressure of 26 psi in the front?

Anyone else have these on a Tundra?

Do the V8 rims on a V6 contribute in any way?

THANKS
