Default Spare tire

Can anyone tell me what's the biggest size tires that can fit the spare rim? Not the factory 16' alloys but the spare. And what's the biggest sized tires that will go in the spare compartment under the bed? I am currently running 285/75/16 and need a spare cuz I have 4x4 w/ lsd but I don't really want to throw all my money on another rim. probably gonna buy some "cheap" size 285/75/16 just for the spare.

make sure that extra rim has the right backspacing for a 285/75/16 to keep from rubbing anything. if youre going cheapo anyway, a 255/85/16 is about the same diameter as a 285/75/16 but should fit fine on a narrow steel spare rim, i dont remember what the spare rim looks like tho offhand.

Are you saying the 255/85/16 will fit on the factory supplied spare wheel?
