Default 5th wheel (spare) Maintenance

Hey gang,

Curious, while I ponder changes to my ride until I get home. I currently have the standard steel wheel spare in back but want to change to my IS wheel for the fifth wheel to match.
My questions: (applies to anyone using standard alloy, IS, or custom wheel)
. How many use the fifth wheel for rotation, assuming matching wheels?
. How many made the change to proper tire size? e.g. larger tire size which is a good idea to keep everything balanced, especially with LSD.
. Assuming no flats or changeovers, how is the wheel holding up under there for finish? Any special maintenance to keep it in shape?

Thanks.

JB, I bought a 5th alloy for my truck and regularly do 5 wheel rotations. Wheel holding up fine in the storage area.

Hi Glenn,

Aside from normal wash and wax when changing, do you just forget about it until time to rotate?

i rotate five as well. when the extra comes off the truck, the inside and outside of the rim gets a good cleaning, and the tire gets soaked in 303, both sides, and let sit for a while.
