Default Michelin LTX AT2 with 3/1 Lift ?

Anyone running these tires with a 3/1 lift? I have a bone stock 2010 Tundra DC, 5.7, 4x4 with stock 18" alloys. Got 50,000 miles on stock 275/65/18 Michelin AS tires. Finally slick enough to justify new tires. I drive alot of highway miles, approx 150 plus per day. I was exited about a 3/1 lift with 275/70/18 Nittos (33"). I have heard some good and more bad about wear on these tires. I really like the look of the Nittos, but I have alot of confidence in the Michelins. I just dont know if the Michelins in 275/70/18 (33") will look aggressive enough with the lift. If anyone is running this setup, I would love to see it or hear how you like it. This is a work truck and I do want it to look good, but I also need it to ride good too. Toyo OC AT are in same price range as Michelins also. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've got the LTX MS2s in the size you mention. My truck is bone stock on suspension except for the Bilstein 5100's up front on the middle setting. Oh, my setup starts with the TRD package, so that may be different from yours. Check out my photo albums for pictures of the new tires.

I am with you on the wear characteristics of the LTX AT2 tires. Most of the ones I see on the road look way worn down.

My LTX MS2's have about 69,000 miles logged and still appear to be ok for another 15-20,000 this is my second set of these, and they are by far the longest wearing tire I can find! I bet the value of these is even better than cheaper tires in terms of $$/mile spent at the end of their life.

YMMV with rotating frequency, driving style, inflation pressure, terrain traveled, etc.

I recently switched from Nitto Tera Grablers to the Michelin LTX Ms2 275/65/18 on my 04 DC. There is a world of difference in the ride. The Michelin's are smooth and grip very well in the rain. They grip ok in the dirt but they are not all terrain tires. The Nitto's wore out fairly fast. They lasted about 35,000 miles with routine balance and rotations. They were tough tires though. I did a lot of freeway driving and ran over numerous construction type debris on the freeway. I hit something once on the freeway that put a nice dent on the skid plate. I pulled over thinking that I had damaged the tires. The Nittos took the hit in stride. However, I don't do enough off roading to justify AT tires and buying tires every two years is costly.

I bought the Michelins as I needed good freeway tires, you wont' be disappointed, they look very good and man they ride very smooth.

I considered those tires and the toyo open county at but after having the local tire shop place various tire sizes next to my truck, i went with the 295/70/18 with my 3/1 lift.

i think the size is perfectly proportioned for the wheel wells and lift.

i would have bought the toyo's if i was ok with a smaller tire.
