What is the largest tires you can put on a Sequoia 4x2 with the standard 16" alloy wheels? I see some have put larger tires as stated earlier on this thread but did not know if they were using the stock Toyota alloy rims.
For those that have lifted your Sequoia's: I do not offroading but like the look of larger tires with a slightly raised truck (about 2" max).
QUESTION: What are the PROS/CONS off using a body lift over a suspension lift? What are the costs for purchase/installation for each?
to my knowledge the list that i had made a while ago for the tire sizes on the 16"s were all on stock SR5 or Limited rims.
body lifts are cheap and typically aesthetic only and usually not recommended. suspension lifts are the way to go because it actually raises your ride using suspension components. there is a coilover kit for the sequoia's right now, but i forgot the cost. the good thing about the kit is that it can be adjusted to raise your ride from stock to 3"s higher. i will update as i find some info.
Thanks for helping out! Please let me know how much the suspension lift is once you find out. I contacted a local off-road warehouse and they stated they could only raise the front with suspension lift and that alone would cost $1,000. I thought just having the front lifted might look funny so I decided to pass (hahaha)...

Yup, I am aware of that. I don't recall when exactly they brought the "new design" out but I am pretty sure that is what I got.

Body lifts are garbage IMO. Been there done that. They expose your frame and underside to more debris, leave gaps in the wheelwells, leave the engine sitting lower in the engine bay (harder access), can stretch electrical, fuel lines, etc. A good suspension lift, such as Simias mentioned, is a much better idea. My $0.02.
i just found out that price for you. the front coilover suspension kit from performance products is $699. it's built by sway-away and it is also for the "front" only. it seems as if it's more of an adjustable leveling kit (stock to 3"s), since the rear is higher anyways. i think it would be worth the cost if you were going to go w/ bigger tires/rims and do some offroading. most likely (if they aren't making it already) they'll come out w/ a rear lift kit as well.
