View Poll Results: Which wheel do you like better?
Just when I was about to give up on finding a set of rims I liked, I found two sets. My truck is all silver with most of the chrome removed and I have just installed a silver/black T3 grille. So I was searching for a set of black wheels to go with the truck. I didn't want to go with straight steel wheels because of the rusting issue. I really like the Jaos Excel II's in gun metal, but at $450 a rim I was really hesitant. Then today I was searching the wheels for less website when I came across these two sets of wheels:
I'm sort of split on which rim to go with. Right now I'm leaning towards the Mojave. Both of the rims are coated in grey teflon, but I can't find any info as to the benefits of this. I'm assuming that the teflon coating would keep them from rusting, be very durable, and really easy to clean up. If this is true it might be exactly what I'm looking for. Both rims go for $200 each, which is much better than the prices on the jaos rims. Any opinions on these rims would be appreciated. Thanks,Z

I intend to get the Victors this summer if all goes well. It should fit in nice with my white truck. The Mojaves are all black, nothing to set it off, you could get the Wheelers rims, cheaper and they look the same.

Actually, the thing I like the most about the mojave is the fact that it is entirely black. I also like the fact that the rims are teflon coated for the durability and rust resistance. My brother used to have a T-100 with the black american racing wagon wheeel rims and BFG AT's. The setup looked sweet. I guess I just have a problem putting $50 rims on a $30K truck. I like the victor because it is a spoked rim instead of the hole punched mojave. I found this picture of an alternate victor:
I would go with the all black victor if it available. Problem is this pic was from the 2003 SEMA show and might have been a prototype. Anyway, that's the reason for not going with a cheaper wheel. I wish I could find a pic of both the mojave and victor mounted on a vehicle, it would be easier to make a decision.

Do those rims even fit Toyota? They all seem to say for GM trucks. I personally like the Teflon Mojave.
Somebody want to photoshop those onto a black truck?
I did a search on the application guide and the 6/5.5 16X8 with a 4.5 inch back space will fit the tundra.

heh...i like the victor. in fact, i like 'em enough i'd get a set if i had the money...ive been looking for a set of rims like that for a long time, felt the same way about the jaos stuff (rrrripoff). dunno that i'd run them around offroad, but that's what the steelies are for.
also fwiw the stem is more protected on the victor than the mojave...and i'm sure you could beadlock either set, same as the guy with the 4rnr whose name i can't remember at the moment.
I really like the looks of the mojave and the teflon coating as well. I don't know anything about teflon coating on wheels but if it's anything like other applications it scratches easily (that's why you're not supposed to use metal utensils with teflon coated pans, for example). I've got a shotgun that I had teflon coated to prevent rusting when I drop it in the water duck hunting. I really love the look and feel and ALL the mud/dirt comes off with a couple of swipes with a damp cloth. There are a couple of places where it has scratched though, like where I load the shells into the magazine. Also I've got a pistol that I had done. It hasn't seen quite as much abuse but no scratches on it. I can tell you that I tried to paint the front sights to make it more visible and paint will not stick to it at all. So, if you do get a scratch and want to touch it up to prevent rust, you may have a tough time of it. One last thing. I don't know anything about their process of putting on the teflon but it could make a difference. With guns, there are alot of people/companies out there who simply spray on a teflon coating like paint. Also, there are a lot of different formulas for the teflon coating. A LOT of people I know have had an awful time with teflon coatings flaking off. I chose the guy I did because he does more than just sandblast and spray on a coating. He has his own patented formula and process, whereby the teflon coating is chemically bonded to the metal. I think this is one reason why I still haven't had any problem with rusting where the superficial layer has been scratched.
I like the Victor myself. I ordered a set of 17 X 8 Victor Chrome wheels for my 2004 Tundra. I already have my tires (285/70/17 Goodyear MT/R) But they are telling me that I won't have the wheels until the second week in April. The wait is driving me crazy!
I just had the Mojave's (16x8) put on (Revo's 275/70/16)...and they didn't fit. The caps would not go on. The shop talked to American Racing, and they've agreed to give me a new set.
One of my options was the Victor (black), so I took it. The tire shop (Bridgestone) has stated that the wheels will fit, but that they don't know if the caps will.
Can anyone tell me if the caps for the black (367) Victors will fit on my Tundra? I have an 01' Ltd, btw. Thanks a lot.
Additionally, if you'd like to give me any information on the Victors I'm about to purchase, I would appreciate it.
