New A/T Revo's 245/70x16

I went against the group consensus here and opted with the smaller 245/70x16 tires on my 2000 2WD Tundra. They don't look as racy as the bigger tires, but I am satisfied with both the Revo tires and my size decision. Rationale for the 245 decision was:

1) The Tundra is geared tall to begin with. My truck came with 245's and steel wheels. I didn't relish losing any acceleration capability with taller tires.

2) I carry motorcycles and increasing the bed height makes that more difficult. My old T100 2WD long bed was the ultimate bike hauler because of its low bed height.

3) I felt the lower gearing would put less day-to-day strain on the engine.

4) They fit the middle of the width spec for the Sequoia alloys that I put on (eBay find).

5) The steering is lighter with the smaller tires and the truck turns in faster.

6) The reduced unsprung weight should ride better, be kinder to shocks, and be easier to balance.

7) They cost less than the bigger ones $518 out the door - balanced, installed, etc.

8) I think they look fine.

Hope there is room on this board for a contrary opinion.

nothing wrong with the 245's at all, there still revos and ull love them.

are they LT or P rated? nothin' wrong with running 245s. they save on gas.

I got the P-metrics because I don't tow with it and I wanted to preserve the ride as much as possible.

I was considering going with smaller tires for the same reason. I'm even considering going with 265/65 tires to get the 29.5" in diameter that the 245/70 have but maintain the same width as the 265/70 tires.
