Default Same size calipers on Tundra 16" and 17" stock wheels?

I have 17" wheels on my Tundra and I want to go with bigger tires after my lift kit gets installed tomorrow but the tires I want, Bridgestones A/T Revos, do not come in anything bigger than stock size for the 17" wheels. They do have a 285/75/16 which means I have to get 16" wheels. When I called Discount Tires about the Revos and wheels, they said the calipers on the 17" wheel won't fit on a 16" wheel. I have my doubts that there is any difference in the calipers for the stock 16" and 17" wheels. Can anyone confirm that?

there are olenty of 03 members running 16's. how many 03's have you seen running Ivan's? Plenty.. A tire company like discount usually assumes 17" stockers mean big ol brakes. Certain 16's wont fit, but if you want 17's and a 285, you can go with the stock wheel. You can go with a 16 that fits or go with a new 17. If bridgestones is really what you want, get the 16's. Theres other tires out there to consider in a 285/70/17 that have a smooth ride if your not too partial. I would suggest BFG all terrain, or Toyo open country a/t. toyos avalible at express tire and bfg at discount.

unfortunately, a lot of shops assume they know everything about every vehicle they sell wheels for...it's oftentimes better to tell them you want something, without explaining what it's for--saves you the hassle of having to listen to someone telling you your idea is impossible. happens to me at autozone all the time, or it did...they're gettin' to know me .
