I think I figured it out. The American Racing/Mojave wheel won't fit with the newer brakes. So, the guy at 4wheelparts new this, but didn't think to ask what year my Tundra was. Well, since it's an 01', I can get the Mojave's.
Anyway, here's what I'm about to pull the trigger on:
16 X 8 Black (teflon) Mojave's
275/70/16 Revo's
Installed, tax, lifetime balance and whatever...for $1460. Oh, and alignment included...

have u had the brake tsb done?, b.c it doesnt matter what year, if the tsb has been done. and instead of going with the 275 70 16, why not go with a 265 75 16, its a little taller. hope that helps.

I want to fill out those ltd fender flares a bit. Maybe I should go higher, as well?
I had the brakes re-done twice. And they still don't seem right. The fact that these rims won't fit the 04's implies that they have a new braking system, altogether...no?
I am actually considering getting an 04', at this point. In which case, I don't want to buy these rims. But, I need to decide soon.
I went to my local Firestone dealer for the REVO's, 265/75-16 and his total price including install was $1099!!! I wonder why he was so much higher than the prices I've seen here? That's over $200 a tire!!!
What gives?
Joe
I called my local firesotne dealer to get quote on some revos and rims and the dude wanted to charge me around 175 a corner for mounting and balancing on new rims, I was just getting prices so I thanked him for his time and jotted the number down, when I compared to all the othe quotes it was like 100 bucks more per corner so i called back asked for the guy who helped me and asked him if he did math wrong he says "No that how much most shops charge" I say u cant do any beter that that he says "thats actually a really good deal" and i replied with dialtone in his ear.

Steve (guy at counter) said they didn't come on the Wednesday shipment and he'll have to call me back to figure out why. 2 minutes later, he called me back. "Yeah, they're on 30-day national back-order." Boooooo! I'm just about out of tread (exhibitionistic ways) and I was hoping to have these installed before the Frank's Pizza Place meet Oct. 9th. Now I have to show up in my crappy Dunlops with no tread. I'm gonna get laughed at! Nevertheless, I'm quite suprised with the limited availability on these tires. Oh... these are the 265/65/17's in case you were confused. I can't believe 17's are that much harder to acquire. Ah well, they'll be on my truck soon enough and they better be the best damn tires I've driven on for this long of a wait. Take it easy, for currently, I will not

The short story is, my Revos are in stock....
If you want the long story, read on
It seems another situation has been implemented in my driving life... Reading what I posted earlier, you can see how crappy this "National 30-day backorder" is for me. Not having the tires at the Frank's Pizza meet isn't all that bad, but a few days later (10-15-04), I will be driving from Houston to Lincoln, NE. I do NOT want to be driving on these Dunlops (no tread, possibly icy conditions in NE, etc.). I was thinking I could make a deal with the people at Firestone...possibly buying a cheap set of tires to hold me over while I was in Nebraska, then when I came back, they could "buy" these tires back, or pro-rate them and deduct that from the cost of the Revos. I wasn't sure if they could do this so I gave them a call a few minutes ago. First off, I went ahead and inquired as to what the status is on my order (although I assumed they were still on BO)... much to my suprise, the dude says, "Oh yeah, we meant to call you - your tires have been here for a week". SONOFA... well, no sense in asking them about me buying a set of cheap tires and blah blah blah... I'm happy I have my Revos now. They'll be installed tomorrow. I'll make sure to give a full report (just as many other proud Revo owners have )
Feeling much better,
