Default 04 Tundra 4WD Access Tire Wear

I've got an 04 Tundra 4WD Access and with 18K miles, the Bridgestone tires seem to be wearing quickly. I monitor the pressures and rotate accordingly, but it seems they are going down fast. The wear pattern is okay. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have an 01 and my factory BFG's only lasted about 19k miles. Some people get good mileage from their factory tires, some don't. My brother has an 04 4x4 with the Bridgestones and he is in the same boat as you.

I have an '04 2wd access cab with the dunlops. Both the dunlops and the bridgestone tires that toyota uses on a new truck are cheap tires and they are both rated at 300 BB which means ELCHEAPO!!!! Check tirerack.com and search around for specs. They have tons of tire info, customer reviews and stuff. Dave

What is 300 BB? I don't think I have heard of that before.

I think he mean 300 treadwear, temperature rating B, and traction rating B. Could be wrong tho...

Obviously I havn't checked this area for a while and sorry for not getting back sooner. Yep you're right. 300 BB is the UTQG( uniform tire quality grade) and the higher the number(300 and above) the longer the tread life. I've seen some michelins with a 700 AA rating. And the letter's represent traction and tempereture rating.( AA is the best and BB) is a lower grade and so on. Alot of tires have have an AB rating. Dave

Default Outer wear on tires

O.k I know everyone is gonna scream check alignment all at once but here goes. This is my second set of tires on my 2001 Toyota Tundra. The first set like most of us have noted lasted about 30,000 miles on average. I have experienced outer edge wear early exclusively on the front. I did not rotate as I should have but still, the problem concerns me since putting four new Goodyears on the vehicle. Its begun the same outer wear on the Good year's. First, I have been to Toyota dealer twice for alignments. It was slightly out of alignment the first time. 6 months later nothing was found to be wrong with the allignment. The only thing I can find consistant is my 54 miles a day to and from work. about 12 miles is on curvy roads and it is after all a full time four wheel drive. Any input is appreciated. I have been rotating about every 4000 miles on average.
