Default How big of wheels aftermarket can fit on Taco 2005?

Does anyone know how big of aftermarket rims can fit on a Taco 2005 without and problems or without any major overhauling.

What would be the biggest rim size while still maintaining the factory speedo settings?

    Thanks in advance

Do you mean tire size? Because you can increase your rim size without changing your overall tire height.

Yes how big in rim size can you go while still maintaing the overall height of stock rims and tires?

I notice 18inch is an option so could you go like 20 to 22's? With super low profile?

you could easily go 22s, maybe a 23 or 24 if you got a very small tire. that's only for a prerunner or 4x4 though. 20s are an option through the dealer and I've seen 1 dub cab long bed with factory 20s. It doesn't look too bad. It's not my style, but I wouldn't go bigger than 20s.

I am intrested in pimp wheels more for cruising in the summer. I hear you tho there is a limit. I am use to BMW and Mercedes so I have to try and keep it true to my roots

Thanks for the information. I think 22's could look nice

    Question

so is your truck a 2wd x-runner based truck, or the bigger prerunner/4wd version?

I find the 18's good looking enough... Only way I'm changing rims would be for lighter weight...

How do you guys bare paying for 22 inch rims / tires? They usually have low ware rating and have horrible ride quality...

I know it's a difference in preference, and I do like how 20's look on certian vehicles... I have yet to see anything other than the stock rims on the XRs and would love to see some huge 20 plus on the prerunners and 4x4s...

Linky linky pics when you ballers do get in dub region

I lifted my truck 2" and put 265/75/16 on a set of 16x8 Pro Comp wheel with a backspacing of 4".The only time I get any tire rub is when I am backing up and I am at full lock. All I did was grind down the small plastic bump on the mud flap and problem gone.

    Kauss,

those arent chrome, they just machine the crap outta the aluminum to get a bright finish, then they clearcoat 'em to keep the dirt and grime out!

Think you can take a straight down the side shot of the truck. I wondered how well a set of wheels that were 9" wide would fit. I still have the flaps on for now and only plan on running a 17" wheel. But I dont want the wheels sticking way out past the fenders and throwing rocks up the side of the truck. Even though the running boards are on there I dont want the paint jacked up like so many others are talking about.
