Default street set-up: tires, rims, gears

I am going to get new tires and rims. Street tires, big and wide (the best size and tire tread). What rims size including width, tires size, and what gears.

If I go with the taco 4.30 gears(? right) and over sized street tires what is the best combo so I am still under the 200 to 400 RPM Ray suggests?

My problem is taking off around corners with a lead foot... I burn too much rubber. And I want a little extra boost when I take off -- off my mods.

What do you think? Any mathematicians have the answer?

what do you think 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 rims?

how wide is the best = how wide can you get?

285/55/18? tires
18x8.5 " rims = how wide can we go for street tires

thanks glen

4.30 gears are perfect for running a 33 inch tall tire, if you wanted a little more power then i would go with 4.56. I have 33's right now and i cant even tell the difference in acceleraton. I was told that the 4.30 gears come off the 4 cyclinder tacos, so you would have to buy a shim kit to install the gears. You can use the calculator on http://www.ring-pinion.com/ to see what is right for you.

Default street tires

Does any one have big street tires on their tundra? Lindsley does but his set up is:

TRD Enkei 20X9.5 w/Pirelli Scorpion Zero 295/40 R20 Rear and 265/45 R20 Front.

I want the front and rear tires the same so I can rotate them. Thanks glen

295/45/20 come on the X-SP
front and rear , don't know why they wouldn't fit your truck.

285/55/18 should be good also
mine came with 275/55/18 and there is plenty of room to spare.

I was thinking about these http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...05&ar=55&rd=18
Might be just a bit too big though.

Awesome --those are great looking tires -- wonder if the 305/55R/18 fit?
and wonder if a 20 rim would be better -- maybe to heavy of a rim in 20 --any suggestions?

What are your street favorite rims -- preferably not chrome.

I really need wide tires and rims so I quit laying scratch when I take off around corners. I want to use my power without smoking my tires.

Thanks for all the help -- any ideas for the ideal street set up -- thanks you guys are awesome --

what is a XS-P ? duh
