Well, I finally got the 285's! I ended up going with Yokohama Geolandars AT+II. I must say that these tires a pretty smooth and quiet on the road! Check my gallery for some pics.

Well, I have only had them for 3 days now. But, so far they are quieter than the BFG AT ko's......I will have a better opinion after a couple months. Man, I love the look on the truck though!

I had cornfeds and they really gave a harsh ride because they increase the spring rate greatly. I switched to spacers that sit in top of the coilover mounting plate and I'm alot happier now.

I love the Cornfed's! I have had them on the truck since 2002. Yes, they do firm up the ride, but now the tundra rides like it should (like a truck!). If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Hey, im new here and this is my 1st post.. so hey all
Sorry to just cut in but i don't know where to post my question hehe...
Well here goes.
With 285/75/16s ..i recently leveled 2" on the front of my '01 AC tundra and running on 285/75/16s on stock rims with no problems on rubbing or anything of that sort. Now im planning to get 16x8 pro comp rims and to my knowledge, stock alloy rims are 16x7. Am i gonna get rubbing issues from 16x8? The Pro Comp Series 1069's backspacing is 4" ..well at least that's what they claim.
Can someone please tell me what the safe BS is for 285/75/16x8 on a 2" lift is? I did see a post up there by hockeyfreak about it being safe for his 2" but it IS for a different type of rim (Weld Outbacks).
Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.. 16x8 with 4inch backspacing will clear the frame... but I don't know about the bumper valance..
16x8 (4.5 bs i think) and I've been good.

I don't know much about backspacing ..but if it is 4.5, is that an option for that specific rim? Will I be able to choose a different bs for the same rim? i e, will pro comp's 1069 16x8 have 4 as well as 4.5 bs? or would i have to settle for a whole other rim?
and thx

It depends on the rim.. Some Manufactuers will have many different backspacing, some will not.. You just have to take a look. Ordering online or brick and mortor? I know there are people running 16x8 with 4inch backspacing.. Cubic22 was running 4" Backspacking on an '02, VERY similar.

I just put black alloys from Wheelers Offroad and I only have slight rubbing at the pinch weld. Wheelers also sells procomp alloys that are not black. You should contact him. He knows his stuff.
