Well I am going on a trip to California for the upcomming holiday and I will be towing a trailer with a car that I bought for my younger brother that will be getting his DL soon. What I want to know is are the load rage E tires necessary? HAs anyone put them on, I am thinking 265/70r17E A/T revos. Or do you all think that it is allright to get the standrad load range. The other advantage I saw was that the E range tires have 16/32 and the standard only have 13/32. Please let me know

I have the same question. I was just looking at snows and they are the same way with 3/32 more tread. Might pay off to buy the E's just for the extra tread. I'm sure they will ride much stiffer though and need more psi as well.
Ha...nissan tech driving a toyota. My other car is an altima SE-R...didn't like the 2005 year camrys at the time....new ones are much better...its been good to me but I would rather own toyotas too.
Well I just ordered a set should be here in a week or so. I will let eveone know after the 1st as how they preform on the 7k mile trip ahead. The altima SE-R is a cool car but when you work on all the problems all day I think that you get bias. Ohh well, The 07 altima is qute the car. I think that My wife will be tradeing her pathfinder for a V6 SL Altima.

Can you not get the LT load range C Revos in that size? I have the 265 75 16 LT load range C on my truck and they come with 15/32 of tread depth. Slightly heavier duty than the stock tires but still give a decent ride.

Several months back I went from Northwest Texas to South Dakota towing my car hauler and brought back a 50 year old pickup truck. I have the Bridgestone 265/70R-15 Revo's in the standard, what I'd call '4-ply' or 'B' tires. The Tundra handled the trip well and I was pleased with the tires' performance. The secret is to have the vehicle's weight distributed well on the trailer, whether you've got 'B', 'C', 'D', or 'E' tires.
I DO believe, if I were to make a practice of regularly towing a loaded car hauler, I'd trade the Tundra in on a 3/4 or 1-ton pickup for the added frame, axle, brake & spring capacity. I love the Tundra, but ANY 1/2 ton is pretty much at its limit, in my opinion, pulling that type load over a long distance.

The E-rated 10 ply tire is rated around 3400# per tire and is probably overkill. I used them on my F-350 for hauling around a truck camper. Inflate between 50 and 80 lbs, depending on load. Make sure your dealer installs metal valve stems. $.02
Well I ordered these tires (5) through work, Nissan Dealer, and I got the E-range for only $15/tire more than the standard tires. I will let eveyone know how I like them when I get them in a week or so. AS for the bigger truck I had a 1 ton dodge and loved it but very inpractial(SP?) arround this area and I do not tow very often so the tundra is a wonderful truck for that. I also bought a LEER cap for th truck so I think that there will be a little more weight on the rear that stock and you have to remember when you turn that one tire loads more than the other. But all that aside the main reason that I bought them is the rubber is a little harder and there are 3/32 more tread. AS for as valve stems that brings up an intresting point has anyone had there TPMS sensors up to 80PSI? I know nissans will hold it no problem and I think that they are simular sensors. Also does toyotas TPMS alert of too High presure?

I just had a set of 265/70/r17 Revos, E load series, installed on my 05' Tundra and have been really trying to find out what PSI I should run the tires at. Other then family trips (I could easily see at least 1/2 ton cargo) and hauling for home improvement projects, I got the tire strictly for the added strength of the side wall. I do a lot of hunting and fishing and on some trips deep ruts, rocks, downed logs, pot holes, etc. along unimproved roads are fairly regular.
I've been trying to track down a reasonable PSI to infate the tires to, in order to get the best ride for daily use and maximize the tires longevity. I haven't found a single answer for that question. So far, the "professionals" are telling me it's safe to run the tires anywhere from the rating Toyota recommends with OME tires (I'm leery of this) to 50lbs. At least according to the folks that sell tires, this range will keep the tires from being underinflated and overinflated, prevente damage to the tire and keep the center of the tire from wearing out first (which they said would happen at 80 psi with no load).
Now, I've set the tires to 55lbs all around; mostly, becase I just don't know enough to be comfortable with a PSI too far below max PSI (80lbs)...I continue to search here and elsewhere to find a more definative answer if it exist.
