This is a discussion thread titled "265/70R17 on stock set up?", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I'd like to see what 265/70R 17 tires look like on a stock 4wd Tundra. My DC came with 265/65R17's and I want to see how the 1 inch difference in tire size looks. If you have pics in your gallery, please let me know. Thanks.
I don't have any pictures but I just put a set of 265/70/17 Revos on my truck about two weeks ago. The originals were 265/65/17 and I absolutely love the look of the bigger tires. It fills the wheel wells up much better. I still have the bone stock setup but i'm hoping to get a leveling kit soon. I will try to find a camera soon so I can add some pictures. Hope this helps though.

They don't look a lot different. They are about 1-1/2" taller. But you can get a 6 or even 10 ply in the 265 70 17's
Is there a maximum allowable PSI on the factory 17" alloy wheels. Just had LT 265/70/17's installed on my factory setup. These tires call for 80psi max. Can I run this tires at 55-65lbs on the factory set of wheels without any additional risk associated with highway driving, 65-80mph?
Nice to stumble upon this information. I've been slowly shopping around for some new tires and have been considering going with 265/70/17. What kind of tires are you guys running and how do you like them?
I just put on some 265/70/R17 on the factory rims.
I wanted REVO's but couldn't refuse $323.00 (set of four - mounted and balanced)for the OEM Brigestone Dueler H/T 840.
The 265/70/R17 is the stock tire for the FJ and I know Toyota was running a special this month (3 @ regular price and 1 for a $1).
I'll post some pixs in the near future.
This size does fill up the wheel wells pretty good...at least I believe so!

check out my gallery as well for the size, the big difference to me is they fill up the wheel wells a lot better so the truck doesn't look like its a skateboard.

I'm looking to replace the OEM 265/65-17 Dunlop Grand Treks on my '05 DC. I've been looking at the Revos and the Nokian Vativa. One dealer told me that I won't be happy with the Revos on a Tundra. I want a more rugged looking/performing tire but liked the ride of the Dunlops. Living in NH I need decent performance in snow. Thoughts?

Great idea to get rid of the "grandcraps", worst truck tire I've ever had. I replaced the Dunlops on my '03 with Revos and was very happy with the performance. I too live in the northeast and the Revos performed flawlessly in the snow and rain. Only problem was; I only got 35k out of them. I had them on my wife's SUV also and got closer to 50k out of them. They were quiet and rode quite well. I now have an '06 DC and just replaced the stock Bridgestone Dueler HTs with Yokohama Geolander AT-S. Much cheaper and they look great. We'll see how they hold up.
