Default Different PSI 265/70 R17 LT Revo's question

I can't find a single reference here that gives a PSI even remotely feasiable for the set of LT 265/70 R17 Bridgestone Revo's I just put on my 05 DC. All the references here are for different size Revos with a different Max PSI or for the P series.

I keep reading 35 PSI, but that can't be right for a tire who's side wall says "max PSI=80lbs". I would assume the lowest this tire should be run is in the neigborhood of 50lbs PSI. Also, is it ok to run tires at 50+ PSI on factory Tundra's 17" wheels...I've seen only a little about the later posted on this site.

Even the guy at the tire shop I got the tires said "35 PSI" all the way around, but when I checked the tires were about the 50 lbs upper limit to my cheap air gauge.

Whatever they are set at they ride great. I'm amazed that for such a "hard walled" tire the ride is awesome. I hope the hype about their off road capabilities also turns out to be true...I'd hate to get stuck at the hunting club again and have to get towed out by a Ford...but that's another story related to 4x4 problem I was having previously with the truck... the shop now says it's fixed...lets hope (anyone know how to "check" to see if a Tundra really is going into 4 wheel drive...I'm still a little skeptical that it's really happening...maybe my bald Dunlap OME were part of that problem)

Default Re: Differenet PSI 265/70 R17 LT Revo's question

I just put a set of the Load range E revos on my tundra and I have set them at 80 psi like the sidewall says. I noticed that the ride was a little rougher than the stock POS tires but I think that it is well worth it. I allways run my tirs a the sidewall rated presure as this is where I belive the tire will preform best. Personally I can not tell a differance bewteen tires at 30 and 50 psi. I also hat these tires in the mud today and they are wonderful. I dident even have to use 4wd where I was getting stuck in 4wd with the stock POS tires.
Hope this helps. Jeff

Thanks Jeff,
Are you running stock wheels? If/or if not, do you know if wheels are rated for tire pressure (psi), and if Toyota's 17" alloys are subject to any PSI restrictions?
