Default 37's

Do you guys think that 37s would make a tundra too sluggish and difficult to stop? I am doing Leathernut's setup and possibly a body lift, but I haven't seen anyone with anything bigger than 35s and I'm not sure how much they will affect the truck.
thanks

Well, i'm no tire expert, but from what i've heard, anything bigger than 35's will really tax your rear end (differential) and your transmission, as well as your engine, and therefore shorten the life of them all. I think people who get 35-plus-inch tires usually upgrade their tranny and differential. it would probably be wise to upgrade to some big-A brakes too to stop all that unsprung weight. But i'm no tire expert like I said, so i'm not totally sure if this is all true. but it seems reasonable, right?

If you go that big you should definitly re-gear. If you didn't it would be really slow and it would wear out the tranny.

4.56 or 4.88 gears would restore the pick up you had w/ the stock tires, plus it will take most of the stress off of your tranny. Since you have the supercharger I would say go w/ the 4.56's tho. It won't stop as well w/ the big tires, but that is to be expected. The difference between stopping w/ 37's and 35's will be minimal, but you shouldn't expect it to stop like a sports car.
