Default Trd Rims

Does anyone know what the back spacing is on a Tundra TRD rims? Im looking into getting the Tuff Country 4 1/2 inch lift but the say you need at least 4 3/4 back spacing to fit.

The 16"x7" alloy wheels that come from the factory as part of the TRD package, as well as the IS rims available through TRD, all have a back spacing of approximately 4.5".

I don't know anything about the TC lift, but I would confirm their statements and even ask them to show you what problems you could have with the incorrect backspacing.

Many of the TS Tundra owners have found that putting larger and wider tires (285/75R16s) on the stock rims can lead to some rubbing at full turn. As a result, many of us have gone to a 16"x8" wheel with a smaller backspacing (the wheel's hub is moved in which then moved the wheel centerline and tire out and away from the suspension and frame). Spacers can also be used to get the same results.

Increasing the backspacing would only seem to make the problem worse, unless the TC kit modifies the geometry or distance between the wheel hub and the rest of the suspension and frame.
