Default Painting IS rims

I'm thinking of painting my IS rims gun-metal grey. Has anyone painted rims or have had a shop paint some rims? How did it look, turnout?

In a recent fight with a boulder on the Deer Valley trail, I came out with some scars. So, to heal the wounds and have my truck look a little different, I thought of painting the rims. Any recommendations on some shops in the Bay Area?

Thanks,
Mike

I was going to have mine painted a silver metallic. I brought them to a local reputable shop and they told me the only way to go if painting is to have them powder coated. They said there would be way too much chipping otherwise. I ended up chroming them and they look great.

Mike,

I've been considering either painting or powder coating my rims as well. I've got a set of Welds and in less than a year they've become pitted due to the stuff they put on the roads around here.

If you get it done, please let us know how much it costs, what the turnaround time was, and if it affects how well your wheels balance out.

Thanks.

I'll check around and see if anyone does it and for how much. Bobbit: Personally, I don't like the chrome wheels look. It's too "flashy" for my taste.

Thanks for the info.

Chroming a set of IS rims is just plain mean and ugly in my opinion. What did that rim ever do to you?
