The weakest part of a Tundra's transmission is the planetary gearsets...when one goes out, you get a lot of metal fragments and other gear pieces from the planetary gears all through the transmission. It's not easily repairable damage.
If you stay under your truck's GCWR (11,800 lbs...the weight of the loaded truck and the loaded trailer), you should be fairly safe. But since most loaded trucks weigh between 5000 and 6000 lbs, that means the loaded trailer weight should be between 5800 and 6800 lbs at the most.
