I don't see the purpose of the vid. You can find OLD F-150s straight sixes towing loads identical to these and more all over South Texas and on not near as good of trailers. They aren't burning rubber when they take off but they will run hiway speeds, usually with no trailer brakes. Thats what most of the site contractors use, old raggedy trucks that you wouldn't drive across town. But they make them work. asianflava has probably seen a bunch in Austin. FWIW, I had a 24' dual tandem gooseneck that I put 20,000 lbs on regularly. I pulled it with a Dodge 318-3, 2 barrel, and a 5 speed standard. It did a great job both pulling and stopping. Towing is a matter of moving weight, not carrying it. If you have Yahoo internet, there is a man that just set the worlds record of pulling 300 TONS with his teeth. The vid is on their website.
I did hear in the vid that the red truck had 4:10 gears. I believe that means it did not have trailer towing.
