I emailed a local dealership here in GA about Limited mirrors.

" It appears to be economical unfeasable to convert your mirrors. The dash wiring harness and both door harness must be changed to accommodate this option. i stopped adding parts prices at $3,616.07 plus tax. And this dosen't incude any labor to change the harnesses. Please call me at xxx-xxxx and I will explain further."
My thoughts are I have a limited that was made with Limited mirrors and they were removed and towing mirrors were added. So everything should be there and all I would need are the mirrors and the switch.
The vehicle is standard with the Limited mirrors, but if the Tow mirror option is added, the others never get put on, as well as the wiring harnesses. That is why there is a credit on the MSRP of $210 to add to a Double Cab, and is actually a $975 credit on the CrewMax, as it deletes other options like the power tilt/telescopic steering wheel.

wow but if you already had limited mirrors the wiring should be there! 3k lol
Maybe I did not word my previous post correctly. The Limited mirrors and its hardware never made it to the truck as the option for Tow mirrors was installed instead. I keep getting the idea people are thinking trucks are built all the same and then changed afterwards. This process would not make since and raise the prices of everything as well because of double the labor.

That makes sense. But I thought the towing mirrors were added at port?
BigO.,
Your 1st mission should you choose to accept it, it to pull out the mirror adjustment switch module from your dash and confirm there are 9 wires going to it, with 1 blank spot on the very left of the connector. If there are less than 9, your dealer is at least partly right, but I am thinking all Limited are wired the same, crosses fingers...
Trust me, I have went rounds with this. But unlike you, I went from the Chromies to the tows on my Limited.

Quite a few final details are done at the port, but the mirrors are not one of them. Lots of harnesses for options that are not on vehicle are present, but for some reasons the mirrors seem to been an exception once you get to the Limited trim level. I would think this is because of the memory options and the fact that they are lower volume compared to base and SR5. I would bet that there is everything present for all but the memory stuff and the power fold, so don't spend too much on Limited mirrors, get SR5 or SR5 with sport pkg option mirrors and it would be simpler/cheaper. Toyota could have saved people some trouble and made some sales themselves if they had set the truck up to upgrade the mirrors, they could have offered a kit of 2 mirror assy's with harness adapter, retailed them @ 349.99 and sold a load of them. Offer the tow mirrors from factory, or add the kit, with footnotes that the fold feature would be non-op. Then there would be quite a few of the small mirrors for sale for people who wanted the non tow mirrors.
Here's another...http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...ing_mirror.jpg
Drivers side connector to mirror.
5 wires top left
4 open top right
4 wires bottom left
2 open bottom middle
3 wires bottom right
Mine is a DC Limited also, if you have all the wires I have pictured, it should be plug and play with the mirrors and the switch only.
Post in the classifeds on this forum, and you will have a trader guaranteed. Lots of us looking for Towing mirrors.

So far so go. I took out the panel for the mirrors match up to yours. Now I need to pull the mirrior switch to see if they look the the same. Does it just pop out?
