Default Installing Mckesh mirrors

I have a question for our Mckesh mirror users. When fitting the Mckesh mirrors, would you tilt the oem mirrors forward, allowing the tow mirrors to be mounted further forward?

I'll need to test different mirror positions. Not sure if I'll miss the oem mirrors' view.

I leave my OEM mirrors in place and put the McKesh as close to them as possible. Works good for me, although at night you get a whole facefull of headlights with 6 mirrors reflecting back at you.

One thing I noticed when I went from my previous 7.5' wide TT to my new 8' wide travel trailer is that the McKesh are not wide enough to see behind the 8' wide trailer. The legacy Tundra is kinda narrow. I added the rear view camera on the trailer and all is right in the world.

I leave the OEM's in exactly the same place/position and mount the McKesh's outside of them. They are adjusted pretty much to the end of the extensions. I had to dig through some pictures; hopefully these two will help you see what I mean. By the way, I finally 'dyed' the ugly white straps to black, which actually came out dark gray. Helps them to disappear when attached to the truck.

The first picture was taken in June of 2005. The second in June of 2007. Notice in the second picture how the straps are harder to see.
