it's no more weight then a trailer would be on the hitch . I thought of doing this to haul two quads one in the box and one one the back .for a total of 1200lbs of payload . I went with a diamond back truck cover so I could carry both on top of the cover and still have lockable weather tight storage underneath the tonneau .
