TowingDiscussions related to towing and towing products.
This is a discussion thread titled "Best tires for boat towing?", within the Towing forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Excuse me for not placing this under Tires and Wheels, but my question relates to towing.
I recently purchased a ’05 Tundra DC SR5 4WD TRD, and I’m replacing the stock 16” rims with some factory Tundra Ltd, 17” five split spoke’s. I purchased the truck primarily to tow a Sea Ray 225 that hopefully will show up this year. So even after spending quite some time on TS, I’m still not sure what kind of tires to purchase.
Most of my driving will be on pavement/highways. But I’d like some mild off road performace, as I need to be able to get to some mountain bike trail heads.
So I’m hoping that the boat trailering members of TS might have some insight.
I just got some BFG AT's and love them. They ride good on the street adn pull good in the sand, plus I've heard that you get great mileage out of them. Also, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are good tires.

I pull a 31' TT and highly recommend BFG all terrains. Quite for highway, extremely good in snow/dirt, and of course "D" rating for towing. If you dont like BFG all terrains, any LT AT tire will be good (as rikqik said).
