I installed Air Lift LiftLoader 5000 bags in my truck a couple of weeks ago and LOVE them! I couldn't be more happy. I didn't think the truck could feel more solid towing my tongue-heavy pop-up, but it does. I also no longer get flashed with brights when pulling the trailer at night. The unloaded ride was not compromised at all and the adjustable support when towing/hauling is sweet. The install was cake. For now I'm using manual adjustment with a bike pump because I haven't decided what compressor rig I want. The manual adjustment is super easy and I'm starting to wonder if I want a compressor at all. I keep saying I'll post a pic of where I located the schraeder valves and I will... soon. I think the location is ideal because they are protected, hidden, and very easy to access. I put them in the body support brackets for the bottom rear corner of the truck. I can easily locate and access them without looking or getting under the truck and there was no drilling involved. I thought about putting them through the bottom two license plate holes like I have seen others do, but the spare makes that almost impossible.
The install went very smoothly. Cutting the bump stops was the toughest part and it wasn't really that hard. I suggest a utility knife and a fresh razor. Someone else on this forum loosened the u-bolts that hold the axle to the leafs so they could remove the stops entirely. I saw that possibility and opted not to do it because I hadn't done any suspension work and didn't want to get myself into trouble.
See Airbag Install Issue for one pic of my install and some discussion about it.
If there's anything else you want answered or want more pics, let me know.

Thanks D-Lo.
You are the one who convinced me to buy them in the first place.
I got mine from the same guy you did on e-bay. They should be here today.
I don't think I will loosen anything on the suspension. I have a good sharp utility knife and that will do just fine. How long did the install take?

I ordered a set of Air Lift bags for my 07 DC to bring up the rear end a little while towing. Anyone here using them? Comments? Installation advice?
Thanks,
Bill
We have Firestone Ride Rite Airbags that were installed about three weeks ago. We're using 30 lbs air when towing and noticed a big difference. The truck is level and the trailer tows great!
I had a friend stop by last night (I'm borrowing his torque wrench) and come to find out he has the same bags on his truck. He suggested that I look into the on board air compressor. Didn't you say you were going to move that direction? If so, what compressor are you considering?
Thanks d-lo.
Bill

I'm thinking about a compressor rig still. I have yet to find one that fits everything I want and I just can't decide. The manual adjustment is so easy that I'm considering not getting a compressor at all. Here are my issues with selecting a compressor by type: Automatic Leveling:
bad-
No on-board tank for accessory air (adjusting truck tire pressure, bike tires, etc.)
I want manual control.
good-
convenient
cleaner dash (no readouts, control switches) Wireless:
same down sides as above, with added convenience of being able to watch truck as adjustments are made. Heavy duty compressor with on-board tank:
good-
accessory air for other uses
bad-
not compatible with wireless, not sure about automatic leveling capability
need to find location for switches & gauges (presumably in cab), can't watch truck as adjustments are made
decisions, decisions...

Yes. Most of my research was conducted on that site.

I can't remember who suggested it but it was an interesting idea.
I saw that somewhere too. I considered it until I opened the gas cap and looked at what there was to work with. It's pretty tight and the 'flashing' surrounding the pipe is soft and too flexible to mount those valves in, in my opinion.

Well I can tell you right now that I am going to steal your idea.
I like where you put them and I like not having to drill any new holes.

I was wondering if the wireless airlift part #72000 can be connected to a tank instead of a compressor? Can you tell me what you know about this?
Thanks
That is a good, handy spot. One question for you, do you get a lot of debris etc hitting the valve? Did you have them installed during the winter? Do you live in an area where there is slush, etc? I'd like to put my valve there but am worried about the bad stuff that constantly flies off my tires. Thanks in advance.
