01 Sequoia - brake contoller/7 pin install question

Guys......need to get a brake controller along with a 7 pin connector installed and am getting prices all over the board....Any where from $200 to $400!
My 01 only has a flat 4 pin conector right now. Do any of you guys have any ideas or experience with having this done? Or is it something that I should try to do myself?
