Default Brake controller's

I'm thinking about changing my brake controller for another. I have a Voyager TE9030 and i'm not real happy with it. It seems that i'm always playing with it . I either have it to tight on not enough. I've been reading about the Proportional Activated controller. Does anybody have this type of controller and do they find them better than the Inertia Activated one like I have?
I drive a 2007 Tundra DC 5.7 engine with a 8000lb trailer.
Thanks

I went from a time delay brake controller to the P3, which is proportional. It's a lot smoother, with the trailer braking proportional to the truck braking. No more jerky stops. Check out "So what is the difference" at the bottom of the page on this site,
Brake Controller

Inertia based controllers seem like the middle ground between the time delay and proportional ones.

P-3 is a must IMO for an 8k lb trailer. It's amazing the difference. During hard braking, it almost feels like you're not towing anything.

It's critical that you set it up properly when you get it though. Just be sure to follow the directions.

I bought a P3 with the Toyota specific harness. It was a plug and play affair. I've only had limited experiences with it but so far, it has worked nice and smooth.

I noticed the gain - left side wheel? has a very sensitive spot - a lot of nothing and then it goes to lockem up suddenly. I found a good setting just a bit away from the lockem up setting. I've heard lots of good things about the proportional unit though.

I'm putting my word in for the P3 as well. Operation is smooth and set-up is a breeze.
