Default Anyone tow a enclosed car trailer with 07/08 Tundra?

Hello, researching for purchase of 08 Crewmax Tundra. I have a 24ft enclosed pace shadow GT car trailer. I pull it with a 2004 Denali Sierra. Anyone have issues using their tundra to tow something like this.

what's the gross weight, loaded? and hitch weight, loaded?
Tundra can tow a lot but payload limit is around 1500 and that can really limit what you tow.

It will tow it better than your Denali! Do you use a WDH?

Well then it should tow great because the denali does a hell of a job. I pulled a 20ft enclosed trailer to New Jersey from SE North Carolina and it hung right in there with a Cummings diesel Dodge. In fact the guy with the dodge bought a yukon denali xl because of it. Why do you say it will tow better? No I dont you a WDH. How does it help?

I tow a Spec Miata in a 20 foot Haulmark motorack1000
It tows well, and I can go as fast as I want, and the brakes are GREAT!
Trailer is about ~3400
Car is ~2100
and the rest of the load in the trailer is probably close to 600

BUT, I do miss my dodge cummins, as it just felt like it handled the load a little better. Which is expected since it was made to handle more load anyway.

A WDH will distribute the tongue weight evenly between your front axle rear axle and the trailer axles. This makes for a much more stable tow.

If you had an 07+ Denali the power output would be very similar, the 5.7 Tundra has much more power than your 04 Denali. Take your trailer to your local dealer and see if they will let you hook it up for a test drive, most will. As for stability and over all towing capability, from what I have read there is no 1/2 ton that compares. Look at the 2008 Motor Trend Truck of The Year comparison, it out pulled the 3/4 tons in all towing tests, including braking with the same trailer attached.

I pull a 24' TPD enclosed trailer with a 07 Crewmax with the 5.7. I use a WDH and it pulls like a dream. We run a blown alky altered and the crew loves the rear seat, plenty of room.
