Default Towing Question

OK, the wonderful topic of towing again. I have a 2003 Tundra access cab, 2WD. I have a camper that is rated at 7000 GVWR. Can this be towed by my tundra for short flat surfaces? Also, my driveway is a steep incline for about 150 to 200 feet, can this be backed up to store it?

When you say camper, i assume you mean a travel trailer right?

The tow capacity for your truck is 7100 lbs (i think, but you may want to verify this in the owner's manual.)
The GVWR is total weight including trailer, not what the trailer itself weighs. ULVW is what the trailer weighs dry. So if the ULVW is 5000 lbs, you can put 2000 lbs worth of stuff in the trailer.

Yes, it can be towed with your tundra but you must have a good WDH and brake controller. I also recomend at least a 6-ply LT tire for the truck.
Backing up your steep driveway could be a challenge because you don't have 4wd lo, but depends on the hill. I'd do a test tow before you buy it.

Yes a travel trailer. Thank you for the reply. I do have 6 ply tires and a brake controler. If I don't carry any of the tanks full or maybe just a little fresh water (enough for road emergencies) I think I should be ok. I actually had a desiel that I pulled this trailer with and I couldn't afford the gas anymore so sold it. I've pulled this trailer with my tundra before, but then bought that desiel now I'm back to the Tundra. Missed it! I'm nervous about the driveway though.

Only Toyota for me.....I've noticed you have a Jag Travel trailer. So do I. This unit I'm reffering to is a 29JB hitch pull with a WDH.

I do have a Jag, but it's a 5er & it's a pretty nice one but i've had a couple issues with it & i'm concerned how it's going to hold up. It's only 2 years old so we'll see i guess.

Good luck with your setup & let me know how it works out.
