Here is a pic of my AC cab and trailer with the '69 Camaro. The trailer and car are around 5000 pounds. The TACO has TRD CAI and catback along with TRD wheels and General tires. I installed Airlift bags on the rear that I air up to 75psi when towing. My tongue weight is around 650 pounds. I average around 12 to 13MPG at 65MPH on the Interstates.
The Camaro is a SS396 and is a numbers matching car, i.e., original motor, tranny and rear. It does not have the RS package. The 396 is a 325HP motor along with a Turbo400 tranny. It is white on white with the houndstooth interior. I restored the car two years ago.
I don't have any better pictures of it loaded up on the trailer but I will take one next time I go wheeling and post it up.
I have AFE SI intake, TRD exhaust, Supersprings and the URD quick shifter which makes a huge difference while shifting while towing.
My trailer and FJ40 weight in at about 5,800-6,200 lbs ready to camp, depending on the length of the camping trip and where I am going. The tongue weight is about 700lbs and the truck sits a little high in the rear with the bed empty and about level if I put the camping gear in the bed. No one believes us Tacoma guy's but these trucks really pull well all the way up to their capacity's, of course it isn't a Tundra. I can fairly easily maintain 65 on most 8% grades, however, when I am towing at higher altitudes I do think a lot about the TRD Supercharger. But even then, I don't drop bellow 55 and on most of those mountain passes I don't want to be going much faster, but a little more passing power wouldn't hurt.

I agree with the capacities and abilities of our trucks. after I got my trailer, I thought that I would have to up the ante to a Tundra but so far have not had a reason to trade my AC. It serves my needs very well.
Thats about as big as a boat I have ever seen pulled by a Tacoma!
I want to see some guys and gals who tow travel trailers with there Tacoma's chime in.

How is the stability like with this setup? Do you use any weight distribution and/or anti sway device?
Wow, that is the big boat for taco... how fast can you drive with it
I picked the boat up in Sandpoint ID and drove it back to Calgary, a distance of 583 km. It was mostly dark the whole way with every thing from bare roads to light to heavy rain and even snow on the last mountain pass. There were two major mountain passes on the trip home.
According to my GPS the average speed was 87 km/hr (54 mph) with a max of 118 km/hr (73 mph) which was when I passed teh Uhaul truck towing a car.
Once I was out of the mountains I had no trouble driving at 110 km/hr (68 mph) in 6th gear.
Here's what I tow with the taco the odd time--its my old truck that was stolen when it was on 33's and full of tools and parts..........
BUT now im in the process of a coil front suspension solid axle swap--for 37's
my tacos got Thorley long tube headers, the locker mod, Extang solid fold tonneau, and a magnaflow clone straight through muffler--although IMO I need to add a resonator at the y-pipe joint..
26'7" and 5500lbs loaded. With firewood, generator, and tools in the truck we came in at around 10,700lbs GCVWR, 400lbs shy of the 11,100lbs limit. Now I pull it with my Tundra and let me tell you, the Taco could tow it, but with the Tundra you don't know it's there, night and day.

This affirms my decisions to buy my new DC 4x4 5.7 Tundra. I was towing with a bronco (5.0 and 5-spd) and it could do it, but it was marginal. I thought about a Tacoma, but didn't think it gave me much headroom.
if in doubt just get the tundra. I had a 2006 taco that is a great truck but I then bought a jeep and trailer. The tacoma pulls great on flat land its the mountains that made me feel like I was beating the crap out of my truck. It would have to downshift to third to maintain speed really reving high. I decided to get the tundra with the 5.7 and it tows great.
