Default 07' 4.7 Tow Experience

I want to ask everyone else out there that has an 07' and newer 4.7L and see what the biggest thing you have towed. I know personally I have hauled 8000lbs plus with it and it handles like a dream...i want to hear what everyone has to say.

8000lbs!
I was thinking about a travel trailer and i wanted to keep it uner 6k. With only 1400lbs of payload its tough.
Im thinking loaded up with the family im only going to have about 700-750lbs of payload left for hitch weight and i have 15% of hitch weight that makes it 5000lbs left to tow.
Payload is where the constraint on all truck this size...

Yeah the payload is always going to add up the fastest...but i have found that the truck itself is way more of a beast than onyone gives credit for. I used to tow with a f150 and the power in honestly better in my tundra by a substantial amount...its all about getting it to the ground!!!!

The 8,000 lb. towing should not be a problem with the 4.7 ...

Not exceeding the "payload capacity."... (cab occupants, cargo in cab and cargo in bed, weight of hitch, tongue weight) ... That's going to be tough..

If we could confidently rely on manufacturers stated specs, (hitch weight, GVWR, etc.) it would be a lot easier to get it all within the proper limits .. But they all seem to "fudge" their specs..

Rex...
