I am close to buying a 30ft KZ mxt266 Toy Hauler. I currently tow a 17ft and feel a little intimidated about the size of the trailer. I was curious of anyones experiences with a trailer this size. I have done some home work to realzie I am safely within the limits of the truck. Here are some specs.

Nice trailer! You are right, it looks like a great match for the new Tundra.
I have a 33' overall length trailer that I towed with my 2005. I just got the 2008 in Jan and have only towed the trailer from storage to my house and back.
I can't think of any issues for a trailer this length. I started with a pup, then a 24 ft hybrid travel trailer and now the 33'. The only difference is making sure you have plenty of clearance in turns.
Get yourself a nice WDH, a good brake controller, set them up correctly and then enjoy the tow.
I'll have to look for you out there since you are right around the corner from me. Towing that long trailer I see in the pic will definaltely let me know that it is you.
Well mine isn't 30ft but my '05 is towing 29ft and though I am not having any troubles, once I get some WDH adjustments made things should look better than the picture implies. I probably need to reduce some cargo weight also.
Heed Tom's advice, take it easy and have a good tow.
Well it is only a 27' box but I also pull doubles sometimes that puts it at close to 40'.
This was before the airbags and leveling kit, but here it is.

32' outback sydney edition. hitch to bumper is 35' and loaded weight was 8240lbs last time i weighed it. My only issue is sometimes at certain gas stations also some campgrounds tend to put us with the big rigs.
Aside from that you will get used to the length.

Hello fellow Utahn. Where you at? Cedar city?
What's the fastest you dare pull that setup?
I want to play in the 30' club.
Here's our setup. First pull was to lake powell last year, and all went well. This load is 12k+, and the truck did well and even managed 7.5 mpg. Oh, hit 75mph a few times and it was pretty fast for tandom. Had to hold the steering wheel tight, otherwise you'd feel a side to side motion in your but. So we didn't go that fast for most of the trip. Took the pass over Scipio over to richfield then past big rock candy mountain on to kanab. Much better way to go with lots of weight behind.
Here it is:

Richfield area (Central Valley), and I keep it below 65, though it would go faster. I've got the rear trailer with about 40-50lbs of tongue weight and my front trailer the tongue weight is off the chart, because the water tank sits right up front. That being said she goes down the road like a rock. No problems. One day I will be able to get a toy hauler, but it will have to wait, because this set up is paid for.

I think it's wise to keep her around 65 tandom, to be on the safe side. We were driving at night with very little traffic, but we definately found out that 75 is too fast for comfort. Although it was fairly stable at that speed, you still had to give it your 100% concentration holding the wheel steady.
I just remember my uncle pulling tandom with 2 bumper pull trailers like yours. He couldn't go over 55 cause they'd start to whipping on him. He was pulling it with a half ton chevy van SWB.
I don't know if you're familiar with the grade going north out of kanab towards panquitch or not. It's a pretty good grade, i know that. Pulling the 12k lb setup last year up that grade, the truck did drop to 2nd gear but wasn't in 2nd that long gaining speed. I flew by truckers like they were standing still up that hill. For being 3k lbs or so overweight, these trucks never seeze to amaze me.
I'm sure we'll be making our way thru your neck of the woods this summer some time. Hopefully we can afford the gas money to go 2 or 3 times, but we'll see i guess.

Mine ships at 7941, supposedly yours does too. I weighed it on the way home from the dealer and it weighed around 8400lbs. Add 3/4 tank freshwater, everything you need to camp for the season, food, etc, about 9500lbs including a 130lbs 3000W generator on the bumper and 2 bikes. But the good thing is that there is hardly anything in the truck ;-)
Hmm...mine was a claimed weight of 7500lbs. When we traded in our old unit we moved everything from it into the outback, then i had it weighed at a gravel yard on my way home. I am certain since then we have added a few pounds. I never travel with anything in my tanks and i notice yours came with extra items suck as power awning, i am sure that adds extra weight.
So, have you been happy with your combo?

Very happy with the combo. I know that when we traded out campers it took 2-3 hours to move everything over. We like to have pretty much everything we would need at home in the camper so we don't have to bring anything when we go camping. We keep clothes, medicine, drinks, rafts, all kinds of stuff in there. I think I took two boxes out for winter because it was freezable stuff.
