Default 5th Wheel Advice

I own a custom car shop and a customer wants a 5th wheel in her Tundra for her 28ft Surveyor RV trailer.

I've never installed one, and I don't sell them. But she wants it, and I'm going to help her out.

I've read some of the posts in this section and I figure airbags are a good idea, so she'll get those. But I'm not certain which size/model of hitch I should buy and install.

The specs on the plaque in the trailer say:

GVWR 9940lbs
minus UVW 7690lbs
minus fresh water weight (51 gallons) 423lbs
minus propane weight (14 gallons) 63lbs
CCC for trailer 1764lbs

She has an '07 DCSB 5.7 with towing package.

Any suggestions?

Without going into the pin weight issues.......

Pullrite Superglide 14K is IMHO the best out there.
Pricey but.....Worth every penny.

Airlift 5000 bags (Or Firestone) will help take the sag out of the rear end. (ebay)
Also replace the P rated tires with LT tires and they will be happy.

I put my hitch in myself and saved a bundle.
Check Big Discount RV Low Priced Reese Fifth Wheel Hitches and Accessories from Big Discount RV.

Good luck.

Bill

What their all not saying is that rig will exceed the weight ratings of the truck. Please let her know that.
