Has anybody towed a gooseneck or 5'er with a lift this high? I just put one on my truck and am wondering what I can expect. I had no problems towing with the Toytec lift on there and am hoping I won't with this one either. I haven't gone to larger tires yet, still on 35's. Thanks for any help.
Just got back from a 200 mile round trip weekend. The truck still pulls the trailer with no problem. Just have to go a little slower. The swa wasn't too bad and gas mileage was was about the same as the 35's. I was running about 55 mph. I need to lift the trailer up about an inch and it will be riding level. You can look in my gallery to see what everything looks like hooked up.
Nice job on the truck. And it's good to hear the towing went without a hitch
Your trailer does look a little nose high in those pictures, and I wonder if you've left yourself enough clearance between the bedrails and the trailer. It's sometimes hard to tell from photos, but 3" would be dicey.
The problem as I understand it is if your trailer isn't level, there's more of the overall weight being carried on the rear set of trailer tires, and premature tire failure can occur. Mine's pretty level; even so when I did have a blow-out it was the rear tire on the trailer that went.

I have about 5-6 inches between the bed and the trailer and it still scares me when I turn and dip down. The tire thing I agree with, I'm going to lift the trailer eventually, but until then, I'm going to rotate the front tires to the back and try to get even wear.
Can you do an "axle flip" on your 5'er? That may give you all the extra height you need.
