Towing experience w/ TRD 22"s
So, my first post here in a while... and yes I've already searched!
In the next few weeks, I will be towing an open car hauler trailer with a Jeep on it about 1300miles round trip. Total weight will be 6500-7000lbs. My truck has the 5.7, tow package, and I have a brake controller as well. I have towed smaller loads (19' boat, Jetskis, Uhauls, etc.) much shorter distances (usually <50miles) with this Tundra and my 2000 Tundra before it.
My question is about my tires... I have the TRD 22" wheels with 285/45 Toyo Proxes S/T on them. The sidewalls say 2601lbs @ 50psi max load. I can't imagine putting more than about 35psi in these tires as the ride is really pretty harsh, but I know that I'll want to do that to have enough "side wall" for this load.
So... anyone have experiences good, bad, or otherwise towing a decent sized load a long distance with these 22"s?
