I drive my dads 05 tundra, which has with crew max cab. trd, 4wd... i looked up in the manual and if i was reading correctly, it said i could only tow 4900.. or something like that, but that doesnt seem right. I thought it was around 7100, but do any of you know?
I don't recall the towing package being much more than a hitch and a 4-pin plug. The rear gearing didn't change nor did the suspension, and I think all the 4.7s w/auto came with a tranny cooler.
2005 Rockwood 26' 5'er, Michelin LTX MS tires, 270 watts of solar on the roof, 4 T-105 golf cart batteries, Xentrex converter, Outback FX2012T inverter/charger.
If you can't take it with ya, why bother with an RV!

I would go by what the owners manual states, make sure you look it up by motor - V-6 or V-8/style/4x4 or 4x2. Looking under the V-6 for sure will lower your towing. My 2000 SR5 AC 4.7 V8, 4x2 was rated to tow 7,500 lbs., then a few years later Toyota changed things slightly and lowered the towing to 7,100 lbs.

look on the inside of your door on the drivers side and it should tell you your towing capacity. this will be more specific to your truck rather than the general owners manual.
