Hello all, I have been lurking on this site since I bought my 2007 Tundra a few years back. I should formally thank you all for all the insight and knowledge that I have gleaned over the past 2.5 years.
My truck: 2007 double cab, 5.7L, 4x4, limited, trd off-raod, with tow package, 2.5 inch leveling kit with 20 inch KMC monsters and approx. 34 inch tall tires.
My question: I am looking into purchasing a Aerolite 21QS THV (
Aero-Rv.com - Aerolite Ultra Lite RV Travel Trailer and Expandable Hybrid Campers).
Here is a pic of this model:
RVTrader: New 2009 Dutchmen Aerolite 21QS-THV - Fountain, Colorado at RVT
Dry hitch weight: 639
Unloaded vehicle weight: 5014
Now, this trailer is one where you have an open front cargo area where you can load two ATV's. Since the total vehicle weight of this model can't exceed 7700 lbs I am not concerned about that. However, I am concerned with the hitch weight, considering that there would be near 1000 lbs of atv near the tongue. I dont know how to quantify the hitch weight with all these variables short of buying it, loading it and weighing it. Also, I would definately be using a WDH.
I love my truck but this may be a little too much hitch weight for a 1/2 ton. Buying a different truck is out of the question as I love my truck too much.
Will this result in too much tongue weight?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks fellas
