Headers are done...onto the exhaust
So after a few torn knuckles, scraped and cut forearms and hands, and countless bruises the Doug Thorley headers are in. I must say these are very nice looking headers. I reset the ECU and have about 4 miles on the headers since the reset. I'm holding my judgment until the computer recalibrates, around 400-500 miles. Next I have to undo the damage I've done to my low end by installing my cat-back Flowmaster system. I wish I knew I would be getting a trailer 3 years ago, I could have used that $600 for a Unichip. I have decided to go with a universal Magnaflow. I have been reading every thread on mufflers and towing for the past few days. It seems like Ray and others have signed off on the Gibson which is quieter, but they say the Magnaflow is pretty good as well, much better than my current setup. The problem I face is I no longer have the stock exhaust. I will have to do a custom job to fix things. I was looking at the 18" stainless steel 2.25" in/out muffler, but am not sure about the pipe size after the muffler. Will 2.25" be ok, I know that 2.5" was said to be to much and I think stock was like 2 3/8". What do you think the best set up would be? I am also going to dump the single out on the side, my current set-up is out the rear and makes a lot of echo off the trailer. Thank you guys for your help with this. I hope to have it done before our long tow down to Long Beach, WA.
