I ordered it today and expect it by friday next. I will take plenty of install pictures and post them.
When we were looking at 32' TT I ordered the DVD and then spent quite a bit of time on the phone whith them. I also met a guy over on the coast who had one. I've heard nothing but good about them. If I were going to pull a TT again I would order one.
Please do keep us up to date on your progress and your opinion of the product.
Bill

That's really too bad. Your gut let you down this time but time will only tell you that. Good luck.

I only speak from experience and how much I know about the inside of the company he purchased from. Does it make sense to you that a man would design a hitch and it NEVER would be upgraded by the company he licensed the design to in 15 years? Then, he has improvements to the design, that are built into a LESS expensive hitch, and it isn't a better product?
Speaking of arrogance... NOT continually updating a product shows quite a bit of it and selling it for over $700 MORE to pay for a private planes, a Florida home and massive company debt demonstrates plenty of it. Or, maybe he purchased a "reconditioned" hitch for the same price as my new hitch and he will be towing with someone's hand-me-down.

I have over 1200 hitch customers in the last two years that would attest to that.
To the OP: congrats on your new Hensley Arrow. We've had one for five seasons towing a 32' trailer with a Sequoia and I wouldn't tow without it. You may be interested in checking out posts by Chilipyro over at rvitch.com. He has a rather large trailer, pulls it with a CrewMax and uses a Hensley. He found that the CrewMax's softish suspension required him to upgrade to LT tires and airbags as well.
To Sean: I see you posting in a number of forums and you're pretty consistent in putting down the Hensley Arrow. I know there's some bad blood there. I think you have a great product but with the constant condescending nature towards Hensley you are really doing yourself a disservice. Not the kind of company I would support with my business. I think negative ad campaigns are best left to the politicians. My suggestion: promote your product. Take the high moral ground.

Thanks Geo,
I actually did look at Chilipyro's setup and infact, we have emailed back and forth on several occasions mainly because he has the exact same trailer I do. I did upgrade to the LT tires as well- huge difference for me. I have the TRD package on my pickup, so I cant remember if Chilipyro had the same on his. I do know you get stiffer shocks (Bilsteins, if memory serves) with the TRD. I'm still looking into the airbags too. You have an awesome website BTW.

I don't see how withholding truthful information can be anywhere near the moral high ground. If I know something and I do not tell it that is exactly the opposite, IMmoral.
I RAN that company for 10 years. When I walked into it, after they had been in business for 2 years, they had only sold a little over 200 hitches. In the first year we implemented my systems we sold 650 hitches. I know the product backwards, forwards and UPSIDE down. There isn't any single person still at the company that has sold more of the orange hitches than I have.
I have countless email copies of the orange company lies (even have a specific thread on another forum with them posted) they put out into the market so I will ALWAYS respond rather than let potential customers be taken advantage of with higher prices for the same performance and less user advantages. By the way, they have yet to respond to their ad hominem email lies.
As for the disservice I am doing myself... I guess I'll continue to do the morally right thing and take the consequences. My sales volume versus that of the orange company (yes, I do know their numbers since I have been gone) indicates it is the right thing to do.
Why not tell us why the pro pride is a superior product? I, for one, don't care what you think of the Hensley company. But I would be intersted in hearing the merits of your product.

Thanks for asking...
Both the orange hitch and the 3P operate by the exact same principle. Towing down the road you wouldn't be able to tell which hitch was on the trailer. The linkage that projects the pivot point was Jim Hensley's original patent. I have licensed his new patents.
An adjustable hitch bar to match different tow vehicle and trailer tow heights. This will save the hitch owner $75-$100 in shipping charges in the future should a different offset hitch bar be needed for a new tow vehicle or trailer.
The hitch bar wedges are closer to the hitch bar tabs which moves the effective pivot point even further forward.
The hitch bar wedges and the hitch box have a greater angle to help in hitching and unhitching without the bar sticking in the hitch head. The internal hitch box redesign has proven to be a lot more forgiving in hitching and unhitching. In over 1200 hitches I have had less than 10 phone calls on the hitching issue. I had a full time guy working for me to answer these questions at the orange company.
A one piece yoke holds the hitch head square to the front of the trailer and doesn't allow pivoting on the ball. This replaces the strut bars on the orange hitch. The independent strut bars do become loose from time to time on the orange hitch and allow the trailer to sway.
The 3P hitch requires NO drilling into the frame for installation.
The weight distribution jacks sit on top of the frame rather than hang on a pin outside of the frame. This provides better leverage for the spring bars by moving the tail ends of the bars closer together and also eliminates any possibility of the pin bending.
The spring bar keeper is a disk rather than a spring loaded keeper. The disk will not wear and allow the spring bar to fall out of the bottom of the head.
The steel is pre-treated for powder coating. This will help prevent against chipping and rusting.
The control links are 3/4" thick.
The hitch box has been reinforced to eliminate warping of the top edge of the box.
The hitch warranty is for the lifetime of the purchaser and covers any repair or replacement of parts.
All of this and a retail price that is over 20% LESS. The hitch parts are manufactured in the USA and ProPride is DEBT FREE and doesn't owe anyone anything.

What, you can't be ethical and not smear Hensley? You won't even call them by name. The orange company? That's what I'm talking about. You can dispute, clarify and repudiate in an eloquent, factual way and you'd probably do even better. If I spoke about other parties like that in my business negotiations I'd be hung out to dry! It's a very uncommon approach, I have to say.
Either way, good luck. I have always felt that Hensley needed some competition in order to drive innovation and price. I appreciate the points you list regarding improvements to the design inherent in the ProPride, that's good to know. In fact, if there is one thing about my Hensley Arrow I would love to see improved, it's the lack of a height-adjustable drawbar. Other than that it works as advertised, and works wonderfully. You should have seen last weekend's angle!

He told me he doesn't have the TRD package, and figures this is a big part of the issues he has faced. But he has mitigated them by installing the heavier shocks and the air bags, along with the LT tires.
Thanks for the kind words re my site.
