Hey...Does anyone know if i have 12v aux power going to my trailer's battery com ing from my Tundra. The trailer is wired to accept a "charge" from the tow vehicle and i was wondering the the Tundra came from the factory to provide power to the trailer's battery. Thanks !!

Since you have the 7pin connector on your truck, I'm assuming you have the factory towing package. In the owners manual check under the specifications section for "fuses". In the 2004 manual for standard and access cabs (I'm assuming the same for 2003) fuse location #4 in the engine compartment is listed as "Sub Bat 30A: trailer sub battery". If you have this fuse, then you have this circuit extending to your 7pin connector. If you have a 4 pin factory wirng harness that has been "adapted" to the 7 pin connector, then you may not have all the 7 pin functions. If all 7 pins are wired you would have the normal lighting circuits plus brakes, battery charging, and back-up lights. Sometimes the 7 pin connectors don't have the back-up lights and battey charging circuits actually wired in. Then you just get the regular lights with trailer brakes. Your fuse panel should give you the information you seek.

Thank you DCTundra !!! That was what i was looking for !!!!!

Hmm...
Smell of smoke as the wood in my head begins burning.
I'm smelling a Mod of the Month submission coming up for those of us who use our trucks for work and frequently have need for AC power.
30 amps ehh?
Not much to play with, but I think it'll power a drill

I was thinking the same thing. I have a shell over my bed, and I though it'd be great if I could run the wiring up into the bed to power an outlet for tools on the go.
Post that mod of the month if you make it happen!

Really no need to mod the truck at all and take a chance on screwing up the truck's wiring. All you need is to buy a 7 pin Bargman/Pollak connector (trailer end) from an RV supply store, open it up and connect wires (10 or 12 GA) to the 12V and Gnd pins, then connect those wires to a suitably heavy duty 12V socket. Whenever you want 12V power at the back of the truck, you just plug your adaptor into the 7pin trailer plug provided by Toyota, then plug your appliance or AC inverter into the that. Wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to whip up such an adaptor. Here's the normal Bargman/Pollak pin assignment
Not much, and less after the efficiency losses inside the inverter.

Nope... not much, but my inverter has a 20 amp fuse and I've already had to replace two power outlet fuses because I forgot and tried to drill something heavier than a sheet of paper with the Craftsman.
At least a 30a source would blow the inverter fuse first.
