Default Setting up to pull an enclosed atv trailer

I have purchased an '05 Tundra and was trying to set it up to pull my enclosed atv trailer. Does anyone have recommendations on a location for the electric trailer brake controller? Also, I am having a heck of a time trying to find mirror extensions. I have ordered a couple of sets off the internet and they have both been wrong. My wife spoke to our local Toyota dealer and they know of none.

Default Mirrors - I'm looking too.

I have yet to find any "Tundra" specific tow mirrors other than aftermarket. If you do a search for McKeesh I believe that is the most popular brand spoken of here on the site. I use the wrap-ons for towing my two place enclosed snowmobile trailer. They stink BUT something is better than nothing plus I have to have them in order to not get ticketed in my state. From a safety standpoint, I am actually looking for some better ones too.

2 good places for the brake controller:

1. In the recess in the dash on the right side of the steering column. My Prodigy fits well there and is easily accessible.

2. Remove the ashtray and put it there. I tried that but like #1 better.

BTW, don't get a cheap controller. The Prodigy is well regarded and well worth the $100. I had a Voyager that my dealer really liked and it was cavemanish compared to the Prodigy. Get the model specific wiring harness and it is a plug and play install.

The only good solution for tow mirrors is McKesh. That's what I have. I was going to try other stuff first to save $$$ but after reading hundreds of posts on folks who already did that and ended up with the McKesh, I went with those. Get the dual convex kind.

1. Controller: Concur that Prodigy is excellent. Other excellent ones are Jordan and Brakesmart. Stay totally away from any "inertia" (like Voyager) or "time delay" controllers (most any with the Drawtite name).

2. Mirrors: Also concur regarding McKesh. They're the only aftermarket mirror that doesn't vibrate. Also the only one that extends out far enough to really see behind the trailer. Available only online from Hensley Manufacturing (the same company that makes the famed Hensley Arrow Hitch). Also agree with Tom that you need to get the optional convex mirrors for both sides.

Default Thanks for the info

Thank you for all your input. I had already purchased the Prodigy after my Voyager stopped working. I wish that Toyota would have a made a better spot for the controller. Although I'm glad I have the Tundra, My Tahoe had predrilled holes that worked great for the Voyager. I am also looking at the Mckesh mirrors but wasn't considering the convex option, maybe I should.

I have the MCKESH mirrors too and the convex mirrors are not an option.
THEY ARE A MUST!!!!!
They virtually eliminate (almost)all blind spots(nothing is ever absolute). I've never felt safer towing than when I first put these on.
I dont think they look that bad, but who cares what they look like. Saftey is the issue here. you can always remove them when you reach your destination if your worried about looks like some other people.
Ray and others are right they DO NOT VIBRATE when installed properly.
I bought a few sets of the cheapies at first and regret it now. YA I saved alot of money . Should have bought these first as i was warned to do, but I had to learn my lesson the hard way.
MCKESH MIRRORS ROCK!
