Default Roll pan with tow hitch.

Does anyone know if a roll pan will fit on a tundra with the oem tow hitch? I'm not sure if this tow hitch is what they call "hidden hitch". I'm thinking of getting the roll pan instead of paying $400 for a new rear bumper.

dennis....when they say hidden hitch when using the term along side w/ a roll pan they usually mean the hitch that pops out from behind the license plate where you would need a license plate flip kit. i'm pretty sure that your stock hitch will fit below the roll pan as the rollpan is pretty much the same size as the stock bumper. not sure though, but you could always mod the rollpan to fit the hitch. get the rollpan bro. it looks bad@$$! i just saw a white ltd tundra yesterday in costa mesa w/ a rollpan and it looked sweet! don't remember if he had the hitch though.

Chris

btw, if a TS member owns that tundra please post. your ride was tight!

Thanks Chris, I have been thinking about going that route for a while. But now I have a real good reason to do so since my rear bumper is now tweaked after backing up into my landlords Ford Taurus. I usually see roll pans on street-out trucks but never seen one on lifted ones. Was the Tundra you saw yesterday lowered with dubs or just stock height or lifted?

After the roll pan, I'm thinking of taking the front bumper out and having a dessert prerunner bar (not lightbar like the one I have now) fabricated with integrated skid plate. This will let me fit 305/75/16's w/o rubbing. I'll have to get adapters to space out my wheels. I don't think I'll be going with fiberglass fenders since I'm not planning on going to 35 tires anymore.

Thumbs up

Dennis,

it was either stock height or slightly lifted. the roll pan looks sweet on both. remember Brian Lee's tundra? it looked sweet w/ the rollpan and his was stock height. i believe the guy yesterday was rollin on 16s or 18s. couldn't really tell because i only got a glimpse of the side of his ride before i ended up behind him.

glad to hear that you're back to working on your ride again! i'm gonna hold off on any mods for a couple of months, so keep me posted on your ride (i'll live my mod addiction through you! )

I was having the s/c itch when I found out that it's already available. But because of a lot of issues that 2 of our members are already having, I might not even s/c my Tundra. I'm sure that TRD will work out all the bugs, but by then my Tundra will probably have too much miles for the s/c. As far as bigger lift is concerned, I'm probably just gonna leave my Tundra the way it is. I'll get the ATS arms as soon as I can confirm some questions I have regarding it and its benefits. Basically, I'm gonna have my rig sorta look like the Axxis Tundra w/o the s/c and fiberglass fenders, and I'll keep it silver in color. And I'm thinking of having a rear prerunner bar fabricated to go over the roll pan, just an idea.

I too was also looking at getting a rear roll pan. I like the look of it. I should've bid for the roll pan that was being auctioned on ebay for $70.00. Oh, well.

2damax-let me know how that front bumper fabrication works out. Were you thinking of getting something like the one on the yellow Axxis truck. I liked it but, I didn't really like how everything was exposed. If you end up getting something frabricated for the front and you decide to get rid of your pre-runner bar, send me an email, I'll buy it from you.

I will definitely email you when I'm ready to sell my lightbar. Just be advised that you'll need to drill 4 holes into your front bumper to mount this thing.

Dennis,
I can't believe you just posted this question. It's exactly what I was just getting ready to ask! I backed into a 3 ft four cornered cement piling that I couldn't see b/c of the height, so I never even hit the brakes. I've also got the tow hitch and was wondering the same thing. Like Chris said, I'm pretty sure the Sir Michael will fit but I wonder how far the hitch will extend back past the roll pan with the tongue removed.
By the way, DroppedTundra had a roll pan/hidden hitch for sale in the classifieds. You might see if he still has it. It's black though, so you'd have to paint it.
Keep us posted on what you decide.

What's another 4 holes in the bumper, I already have 4 for the off-road lights. 2 for the mounting holes and 2 to direct the wires.

Default Prices???

Has anyone been able to find any good prices on either the steel or the fiberglass. So far I've seen the fiberglass at $125 and the steel for $145.

I was wondering about that as well. The hitch's crossbar appears conceiled when the bumper is there because it sits ontop of it. Without the bumper, it'll show. I guess it'll work to my advantage since I can use it as a step to get on the truck bed if I need to being that I'm a shorty.

I found this roll pan on the web, check out the very bottom one. Looks like an outlaw-style roll pan.
